The Effects of Loss
Each person’s experience of loss will have subtle differences that will make it unlike any other loss, but we share many emotions in common – intense feelings of pain, anger, shock, depression, numbness, loneliness, guilt, self-blame, fear, frustration and desperation.
You may also experience a wide variety of physical complaints, including sleep and appetite disturbances. These are all normal for what you are going through..
There are many effects of loss, change, grief, and bereavement. They can affect you physically, psychologically, behaviourally, socially, emotionally, economically, philosophically, and spiritually.
Repressed, unrecognized, and untreated grief after a significant loss, can result in personal anguish, increased anxiety, multiple physical complaints, functional impairment, depression, and increased substance abuse.
My mission is to support people through the difficult passages in their lives. I am here to listen in a kind and caring manner. I will give you a safe sanctuary to express your feelings, so that you can find your way through your loss.
